Hello!!! My name is Mrs. Valentine, and I am one of the School Counselors here at Kenwood Elementary. I have been a school counselor in CMCSS since 2018. I am a positive resource and support system for the school. I help reinforce the school’s mission to help students succeed and reach their full potential mentally, socially, emotionally, and academically. I advocate for each student no matter race, ethnic background, religion, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability, or learning level. I believe that all students have the potential to succeed with resources and support. My mission is to help every student have the ability to increase their learning potential. I work collaboratively with parents, teachers, school administrators/staff, and community members.

What I love to do most in my spare time is reading, pinning on Pinterest, and listening to music. I have a beautiful family that consists of my husband, our son, and boy and girl twins.

The mission of the Kenwood Elementary School Counseling Program is to implement a comprehensive, data-driven, and developmentally appropriate school counseling program aligned with the Tennessee Comprehensive School Counseling Model and ASCA Ethical Standards. Through direct and indirect services, we advocate for equitable access to opportunities that promote academic achievement, consistent attendance, social-emotional growth, and career awareness for all students. In collaboration with families, teachers, administrators, and community partners, we provide prevention, intervention, and responsive services designed to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student has the support necessary to succeed.

Kenwood Elementary School Counseling Program Vision The Kenwood Elementary School Counseling Program envisions a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every student is respected, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and in future career pathways. We envision a school community where barriers to success are removed, attendance and engagement are prioritized, and all students—regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability, or learning level—have equitable access to the resources and support necessary to thrive.
