Welcome! I am Dr. Silvina Aznar, and I am thrilled to support our Kirkwood Elementary school community. With over 30 years of experience as a teacher, instructional coach, and university instructor, my passion is helping multilingual students thrive academically as they acquire the English language. I hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and a Master's degree from New York University in Latin American Studies. I am certified in ESOL, Elementary Education, Reading, Gifted Education, and Leadership. I am bilingual in Spanish and English and believe that every student's background and native language are assets for learning. I look forward to working with our amazing English learners, supporting their families, and collaborating with classroom teachers to make this successful school year!
